Announcement!
She Bangs is now based in SE QLD!!
It's time for ToolSchool in Toowoomba! If you're on the Darling Downs and you've ever wanted to learn D-I-Y and get on the tools, this is your opportunity. She Bangs said good-bye to Melbourne and is now calling T'Bang home. Starting with offering ToolSchool workshops for women, it's an exciting time - keep an eye out for future developments, including the Bangings Warehouse, a tiny house build, and an informal she shed.
I'd like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the amazing Melbourne community of women and supportive men who have been a dream to work with. She Bang's e-Guides, online consultations & Ask Her, plus the Bang! Club digital resources library and discussion groups are available Australia-wide.
So, Bang On!

ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Sam!
Head Banger at She Bangs ToolSchool & Home Handy Services :)
I started She Bangs out of necessity because I couldn't wait around for someone else to get things done - whether I was waiting on was a busy tradesman or a bloke who said he'd give me a hand. When I looked around, I saw a lot of other women keen to D-I-Y too, but they lacked confidence. It was then I decided to help empower us all by sharing know-how and skills I learnt along the way.
So, I launched a community of women to D-I-Y, together! It's come a long way since 2020.
I didn't grow up 'handy', so to develop my own skills and knowledge, I self-taught, renovated properties, joined community builds and volunteered. I went back to TAFE to get a Certificate IV in Building & Construction and also gained a Cert II in Carpentry. I'm no builder nor carpenter, but these days, I still do professional development, attend workshops, courses and volunteer projects, and learn from experts - everything from sustainable building design, building with natural materials, tiny house construction, welding and blacksmithing, woodwork and furniture-making, waterproofing, and other trade skills. I apply that learning to projects and in workshops. Between my innovative Do-It-Together! approach, ToolSchool and Bang! Club, I share what I know through hosted workshops and webinars, consultation services, in-home skill-shares, the Bang On newsletter, social media, members' resources library, e-Guides, webinars, and a free blog.
I’d love to help empower, educate and expose you to the world of D-I-Y, building & construction, and tradies. Tell me how I can support you...
