Did you know....

Homeless women over 55 years old are the largest growing cohort in Australia?

The sad fact is that due economic setbacks (such as divorce), gendered financial disadvantage (such as caregiver responsibilities), illness, or historically low paid employment has meant the housing crisis and its worst social impacts have hit this demographic the hardest in recent years.

Although often less visible in homelessness, women often resort to sleeping in cars, staying in toxic relationships or vulnerable living situations, and couchsurfing to stay off the streets.  But #vanlife is only a fun adventure if you chose it.

Housing is a human right, and building your own shelter is the ultimate act of liberation and empowerment.

"Shall we forever resign the pleasure of construction to the carpenter?", said Henry David Thoreau, who also noted "the cost of a thing is the amount of life which is required to be exchanged for it".

What cost to have a tiny home to call your very own?
